About Nail Fungus / Warts

Nail fungal infections can occur in both the fingernails and toenails, but are more commonly found in the toes. Using our laser, we can safely diminish fungus to improve nail health and appearance. A series of treatments are recommended and needed to cure the condition. While laser fungus removal is a lengthy process, treating the nail this way is the safest and quickest way to a healthy nail.

Warts are commonly found on the bottom of the feet and on the hands. Using our laser, we can safely target the warts.

How it works

During a fungus removal treatment, we deliver energy and heat into the nail. This is effective at targeting and destroying the fungal spores that are causing the fungal infection.

During a wart removal treatment, energy and heat are delivered into the wart targeting the blood supply that feeds the wart. This process cuts off the blood supply, essentially destroying the wart.

Fungus removal requires 4 weekly treatments and then monthly treatments following until the nail grows out completely healthy. This process generally takes about 6-9 months for fingernails and 9-12 months for toenails.

Wart removal requires 1-3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

Are the treatments comfortable?

Both nail fungus and wart removal treatments can cause minor discomfort. Heat is used to both kill the fungus and cut off the blood supply from the wart and this excess heat is what causes discomfort.

How much is each treatment?

Is there anything I need to do before my treatment?

For nail fungus removal, follow the instructions below for best results:

  • Come without nail polish on

  • Trim and file the nail down prior to treatment (if the nail is too thick, the laser will not penetrate thoroughly for proper treatment)

  • Clean everything that comes into contact with your nails (bed sheets, socks, shoes, shower floor)

  • Bring fresh socks to your laser appointment

For wart removal:

  • Ensure there isn’t callused skin formed over the wart

Is there any downtime or any restrictions post treatment?

After nail fungus removal there is no downtime. The main restriction is to refrain from wearing nail polish for the duration of your treatments.

After wart removal, the treatment area may be tender so depending on the location of the wart you may wish to avoid a lot of walking or exercise post treatment.
